Social Skills Intervention
Some children e.g. those on the Autistic Spectrum* or those with a Social (Pragmatic) Communication Disorder need help to develop their social skills. Due to limited working hours, I am only able to see primary and secondary-school aged children with Level 1 Autistic Spectrum Disorder (those with mild delays); I am unable to see Level 2 or 3 or preschool children with confirmed or suspected Autism. Currently I use the principles from the:
Social Stories (see ),
Socially Speaking; and
The Social Communication Intervention Program (SCIP) (see ).
As well as other methods supported in the literature.
